Higher Court Advocates
18th December 2008 Article by Mr N S Ross Russell & Russell

Colin Buckle's award of Higher Courts Advocate ( HCA ) certificate and qualification should also be noted and celebrated.

Colin joined the firm 6 years ago as a Crown Court paralegal, although he was in fact an unadmitted barrister.

He undertook the conversion process and was admitted as a solicitor in March 2008 and using his experience at Russell & Russell and his previous barrister qualification, he has now very quickly attained HCA status, an achievement which is usually only possible after a number of years post-qualification experience.

As a consequence, the firm now has 3 HCAs whereby we are able to handle the majority of the firm's Crown Court cases. The existing HCAs in addition to Colin are Partners  NICK ROSS and ANDREW COSTELLO. Our advocates are heavily committed in providing a top quality, user-friendly service at the Crown Court and regularly appear at courts across the North-West such as Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Lancaster, Preston and also further afield including The Court of Appeal and Southwark Crown Court in London. The firm is happy to accept agency instructions from other firms and also to represent other agencies in the Crown Court.
