ALEX KORKO ( Conveyancing )
Alex joined Russell & Russell in 2015 and works as a conveyancer in our Bolton head office on Wood Street. He has over 10 years of experience in conveyancing and deals with all types of residential property transactions including freehold, leasehold, new build and remortgages.
Outside work, Alex likes to spend time with his partner and son. He’s a keen sportsman and enjoys both playing and watching football and cricket.
AMY BELLIS ( Conveyancing )
Amy left the BPP Law School (Manchester) with a law degree in 2014. She continued her education with an LPC and LLM at University of Law (Manchester), graduating in November 2016. Following her legal training, she qualified as a solicitor in 2018.
She works from Russell & Russell’s head office on Wood Street in Bolton within the conveyancing department. Specifically, she works in the commercial property team, dealing with remortgages, sales, purchases and commercial buy to let properties on behalf of lenders.
In her spare time Amy likes to go to the gym, read crime fiction novels and socialise with family and friends.
CARLY TRAVERSE ( Conveyancing )
Carly obtained a law degree from Durham University in 2008 and completed her LPC in Chester in 2009. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2012.
Working in the conveyancing department of Russell & Russell’s Chester office, she deals with all aspects of residential property, including sales and purchases, new build properties, properties with help to buy or shared ownership schemes, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, leases extensions and enfranchisement.
In her spare time she enjoys pilates, reading and spending time with friends and family.
CHARLENE HICKMAN ( Conveyancing )
Charlene joined the firm in 2018 as a Re-Mortgage Fee Earner in the conveyancing department.
Having over 10 years of experience, she has dealt with all areas of residential conveyancing. She works from Russell & Russell’s head office in Bolton, dealing with re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
Outside work, Charlene likes to Socialise, play netball and go swimming.
CLAIRE SMITH ( Conveyancing )
Claire’s career began in 2002 when she was employed as a conveyancing assistant. She started fee earning in 2003 and has gone on to gain a wealth of experience dealing with a wide range of property transactions, including high value properties, freehold/leasehold sales, purchases, re-mortgages, auction properties as well as more complex property transactions. She also gained valuable experience working as an in-house conveyancer for several lending institutions, mainly dealing with adverse lending.
Working as a fee earner from the firm’s conveyancing department at its head office in Bolton, Claire deals with all elements of residential conveyancing. In tandem with this, she is also studying to become a Licensed Conveyancer.
In her free time, Claire enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter - whether that be venturing out to the cinema, grabbing a bite to eat or simply cosying up at home with a nice bottle of wine. She’s also a keen traveller and wants to visit as many countries as possible. In addition to her busy life, she has a particular interest in all aspects of property renovation.
COLIN MCWILLIAMS ( Conveyancing )
Colin qualified with an LLB (Hons) Law degree from Liverpool John Moores University in 2012. He went on to complete his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at The University of Law in 2014.
He joined the Russell & Russell in 2016 as a Paralegal and then as a trainee Solicitor, qualifying in 2019. Working from the firm’s Chester office, he deals with all areas of residential conveyancing.
In his spare time, Colin likes to hike, camp and tinker with motorcycles.
DAVID KITCHEN ( Conveyancing )
David obtained his degree at Queens University, Belfast in 2008, before completing his LPC training at the College of Law in Chester in 2009. He qualified as a Solicitor 2013.
Working from our Bolton head office, David specialises in all aspects of residential property, dealing with sales, purchases, auction properties, new builds, shared ownership and lease extensions.
In his spare time David is an avid Bury FC supporter and enjoys participating in, and watching, various sports. He’s also a keen gardener and cook, but likes nothing better than walking his border collie.
DEBRA KERRIGAN ( Conveyancing )
Debra is an experienced conveyancer with over 30 years experience in the sector. She joined the firm straight from college in 1986 as a secretary to Stephen Crompton and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 1999.
Debra works from the firm's Bolton head office and deals with all types of residential conveyancing including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
Outside work, she likes walking, trekking, skiing and socialising.
DONNA BERRY ( Conveyancing )
Donna has over 15 years of experience, dealing with all elements of property transactions. She has completed courses such as client care, management, money laundering to improve her conveyancing and management skills.
Now heading up the client remortgage department, Donna works from Russell & Russell’s head office on Wood Street in Bolton.
In her free time Donna likes to spend time with her daughters. She also enjoys eating out and travelling.
ELIZABETH WEBSTER ( Conveyancing )
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2012 with a BSc in Criminology, before going on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Law conversion at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014. She followed this by gaining a distinction in her Legal Practice Certificate in 2015.
She spent two years working in the conveyancing department of a legal firm in Stockport before moving to Russell & Russell. Now, working from the firm’s head office in Bolton, Elizabeth works as a remortgage Fee Earner.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking and spending time with her family and friends.
HANNAH FINCH ( Conveyancing )
Hannah has a degree in law and business from the University of Humberside and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2006
She joined Russell & Russell in 2000 and works in the conveyancing department at the firm's head office in Bolton. She deals with all aspects of the legal process, including buying, selling and re-mortgaging residential property.
Outside of work, Hannah is pretty busy being a keen traveller. She also enjoys going to the cinema and theatre and watching rugby and cricket matches. Hannah is an active member of a local tennis club, enjoys swimming, running and when she's not busy with that, she can be found happily digging away on her allotment.
JAEDA MOAYEDI-AZARPOUR ( Conveyancing )
Jaeda completed her Law degree at Staffordshire University in 2005. She went on to complete an LPC in 2006 and her LLM in 2011. She also qualified as a Solicitor in 2011.
Since joining Russell & Russell in 2016, she has been working from our Chester office, dealing with all aspects of sales and purchases, new build properties, shared ownership, transfers of equity, re-mortgages and lease extensions..
In her free time, Jaeda likes to read and is a regular cinema goer. She’s also an avid follower of Formula One.
JANINE NAYLOR ( Conveyancing )
Janine is PA to head of the conveyancing department, Stephen Crompton. She joined Russell & Russell in 1999 and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2005.
Working from the Bolton head office, Janine has undertaken a number of roles within the department, including Fee Earner and being a member of the new business team, dealing with enquiries from the public and professional introducers.
She's married with three children and outside work, enjoys Zumba, swimming and socialising with friends.
JEANETTE GROARK ( Conveyancing )
Jeanette graduated with a law degree from Leeds University in 1977 and went on to Chester College of Law. She qualified as a Solicitor in 1980.
Having lived in Reading for over 30 years, Jeanette returned to the North West and joined Russell & Russell in September 2014. She works from the firm’s Middleton office, dealing with residential conveyancing matters.
In her spare time, Jeanette loves going to the cinema and learning about history. She also enjoys writing fiction and poetry as well as painting and visiting museums and art galleries.
JENNIFER TAYLOR ( Conveyancing )
Jennifer completed her law degree at the University of Hull in 2014. She went on to take her LPC with distinction at the University of Law in Chrisleton, graduating in 2015. After completing her training contract, she qualified as a Solicitor in 2017.
Working in the conveyancing department at the firm’s Chester office, Jennifer deals with a broad spectrum of residential home moves. She’s also qualified to draft wills for clients.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys kickboxing, cooking and going to the theatre.
JILL HUGHES ( Conveyancing Partner )
Jill is a salaried partner in the firm's residential conveyancing department. She qualified with a degree in mathematics from Newcastle University in 2000, followed by a postgraduate degree in law on 2001. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2005.
She joined the Russell & Russell in 2005 and acts for clients at the Bolton and Bury offices, dealing with all types of residential property transactions. In particular, Jill specialises in separate representation and buy to let mortgages for individuals and companies.
In her spare time, Jill enjoys spending time with her family.
JULIEANN FITZGERALD ( Conveyancing )
Julieann is a Paralegal within the firm’s conveyancing department. She will qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer in the summer of 2019.
Prior to joining Russell & Russell in 2016, Julieann worked as a Legal Secretary and PA for 20 years in London, Liverpool and Chester, covering commercial and residential conveyancing. She works from the firm’s Chester office, dealing with all elements of the conveyancing process.
Outside of work, Julieann likes to walk her dog, spend time with family and friends and she is currently completing a Humanities Degree with the Open University.
KARA NICHOLLS ( Conveyancing )
Kara graduated with a degree in law with criminology from Edge Hill University in 2015. She joined Russell & Russell in 2018 working as a Paralegal.
Based at the firm’s Chester office, Kara deals with all elements of residential conveyancing transactions.
Outside work, she likes to go to the cinema, try different food and go home to visit family in Essex.
KAREN WOODS ( Conveyancing Partner )
Karen is an equity partner at the practice and heads up the conveyancing department at our Chester office. She graduated with an LLB Law degree from Manchester Polytechnic, before gaining her LPC in 1989. Following the completion of her training contract with a legal firm in London, Karen moved back to the North West to join Russell & Russell in 1991.
In her role, Karen leads a team of residential property specialists as well as managing a case load of her own. She deals with all aspects of home moves.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys holidays, ancient history and mythology, food and friends.
LAURA LINDSAY ( Conveyancing )
Laura joined Russell & Russell in 2002, working as a secretary in the firm’s conveyancing department. She went on to become a conveyancing assistant in 2004.
Keen to expand her knowledge, she studied to become a residential conveyancing paralegal with the Institute of Paralegals, qualifying in 2016. Now working from our Farnworth office, Laura runs her own caseload dealing with all aspects of residential transactions.
Outside work, she likes to spend time with her husband, two dogs, three guinea pigs and their rabbit. She’s also a qualified Zumba fitness instructor and teaches four classes a week.
LAUREN HUGHES ( Conveyancing )
Lauren studied for her law degree at Edge Hill University in 2009, before going on to complete her LPC at the University of Law in Chester in 2010. She began her legal career as a secretary in 2010 and progressed to paralegal status in 2011. In 2012, she began her training contract and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013.
Now working in the conveyancing department of our Chester office, Lauren handles all elements of the home moves process, including buying, selling, remortgaging, self-build as well as conversions and buy to let.
Outside the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going the gym and participating in charity events.
LEE HOLEHOUSE ( Conveyancing )
Lee’s career began in 1979 when he established his own catering business, which he ran for a number of years, before joining BT. He spent the next 18 years working in a variety of roles, including customer service, procurement and project management. In 2002, he became operational manager at Countrywide plc, running various teams. Lee joined Russell and Russell in 2016 and heads up operations for the conveyancing department, working from the head office in Bolton.
Married to Diane, he’s dad to Charlotte and James. In his spare time he cycles, does a spot of gardening and is an avid follower of rugby league. He also enjoys the company of friends and family and a cold glass of Pinot.
LISA JONES ( Conveyancing )
Obtaining a degree in English language and literature from the University of Salford in 1995, Lisa went on to study a Common Professional Examination (CPE) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law, Chester, qualifying in 1998. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 2001.
Lisa has been with Russell & Russell since 2015 and is based at the Bolton head office, although she does cover other branches as part of the support team. In her role, she deals with all aspects of the conveyancing process.
When not at work Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends or indulging in her passion, running.
LOUISE SIMONS ( Conveyancing )
Louise attended university in Liverpool, graduating with BA Hons Law LLB degree in 2006. Following this, she received a commendation for her Legal Practice Certificate from the College of Law in Chester and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013.
She started working in the conveyancing department of Russell & Russell’s Chester office in 2011, specialising in all aspects of home purchases and sales on behalf of private clients and housing developers.
Outside of work Louise enjoys spending time with friends, quizzing, hosting game nights and keeping up to date with the latest cinema releases. She also plays soprano cornet in a brass band which competes across the country.
LUCY CARTWRIGHT ( Conveyancing )
Lucy obtained a criminology degree from Liverpool John Moores University in 2014. She went on to complete her GDL and LLM at the University of Law, Chester in 2015 and 2016 respectively. She's now in the process of completing her training contract with Russell & Russell.
She joined Russell & Russell in 2016 and works from the Chester, acting for clients involved in conveyancing transactions.
Outside of work, Lucy likes to socialise with friends and family, shopping and planning trips away.
MICHELE BENSON ( Conveyancing )
Michele joined the conveyancing team at Russell & Russell’s in October 2014 and now works at our Farnworth branch. She has over 25 years’ experience of working within the legal profession, including working for a number of major house builders.
Michele qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2014 after attending a distance learning course through the Council of Licensed Conveyancers. She deals with all areas areas of residential conveyancing.
Happily married with a grown up daughter, she loves to socialise with friends and family and enjoys attending her local gym. With a particular fondness for all things Italian, Michele aspires to learn the language to help her on trips around the Amalfi coast.
NATASHA HOY ( Conveyancing )
Natasha joined Russell & Russell in 2012. She is a Paralegal in the conveyancing department and is working towards becoming a Licenced Conveyancer.
She works from the firm’s head office in Bolton and mainly deals with sales and purchases.
When Natasha isn't working, she enjoys walking her dog and watching motorsport, in particular the British Touring Cars.

PAUL BOARDMAN ( Conveyancing )
Paul graduated from Bristol University with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1982. Following that, he enrolled at Chester College of Law. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1988 and joined Russell & Russell in 2013.
Working from our head office in Bolton, Paul deals with all aspects of domestic property work, including sales, purchase, transfers of equity and re-mortgages.
In his spare time Paul likes to socialise with friends and family. He keeps fit by walking and running.
RICHARD DREW ( Conveyancing )
Richard studied Economics at Manchester University, graduating in 1986. He went on to complete his legal studies at the College of Law, Guildford in 1990, subsequently qualifying as a Solicitor in 1993.
Working in the conveyancing department at the firm’s Chester office, he has substantial experience of all types of residential property work, including high value and complex transactions. Richard is also experienced in dealing with adverse possession claims, first registration applications and land with title problems.
When not at work, he enjoys playing tennis and golf to keep fit. He also likes reading and socialising with friends.
RICHARD QUERELLE ( Conveyancing Partner )
Graduating from Buckingham University with an LLB law degree in 1993, Richard went on to qualify as a Solicitor in 1998.
He joined the conveyancing department at Russell & Russell's Chester office in 2015. He is experienced in dealing with all types of property sales and purchases, but has a particular expertise in dealing with high value and complex residential sales throughout England and Wales.
Outside work, Richard likes to spend time with his family and enjoys keeping fit by running and cycling - he is a marathon mountain biker and ultra trail marathon runner. He relaxes by watching cricket and rugby.
SARAH LEATHER ( Conveyancing )
Having spent many years working in the property industry, Sarah joined Russell & Russell in 2018. She works from the firm’s Chester office as a Paralegal in the conveyancing department, assisting with all aspects of the home moves process.
Outside work, Sarah enjoys sailing with her husband on their J80 sports boat and spending time in Abersoch. She also likes to cook and sew.
SIMON TANSEY ( Conveyancing Partner )
Simon obtained his law degree from the University of Sheffield in 1991, before graduating with his Law Society Finals in 1992 at the College of Law in Chester. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2000.
He joined Russell & Russell in May 2014, dealing with residential conveyancing matters and works at the firm’s Middleton office.
When he’s not at work, he runs round after his two teenage children. On the occasion when time does permit, he enjoys a spot of DIY and follows the “world’s greatest team”; Warrington Rugby League Club.
STEPHEN CROMPTON ( Conveyancing Partner )
Stephen is an equity partner in the firm and a property lawyer with over 30 years experience. He joined the practice in 1978 and is a qualified solicitor holding a degree in Law.
He is joint managing partner of the practice and deals with all types of property related transactions, both commercial and residential. This includes development work for builders, self build transactions and more complex residential property matters. He also provides advice and assistance to lenders including services in respect of LPA receiverships, re-mortgages, SIPS and separate representation.
His biggest achievement at Russell & Russell is playing an instrumental part in ensuring that the practice seeks to deliver quality legal services that meet the needs of our clients at a fair cost to them.
When not at work Stephen's interests are his wife and four children. He also enjoys watching films, music, most sports and a chilled New Zealand sauvignon blanc.
SUSAN JOHNSON ( Conveyancing )
Susan began working as Paralegal at Russell & Russell’s Chester office in 2010.
With over 25 years experience, she acts for clients in all types of residential conveyancing.
In her spare time she likes to garden, reads all types of books, foreign travel and sampling wine. She also enjoys spending time with her ever expanding family now that she has two granddaughters who keep her ‘young at heart’.
URSULA ISHERWOOD ( Conveyancing )
Ursula originally joined the firm as a secretary in 1978 and, after a number of years working in the field, embarked upon on her legal training. She qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2009.
Having left in 1982, she rejoined Russell & Russell in 2014 and works from the Farnworth office. She deals with all types of residential conveyancing.
In her spare time she likes to go walking as well as socialising with family and friends. Most of all, however, she all enjoys looking after her two grandsons.
ZOE HARRYMAN ( Conveyancing Partner )
Zoe qualified with a degree in rural resource management from Aberystwyth University in 1998. She went on to complete her CPE at the College of Law York in 1999 and LPC in 2000.
She joined Russell & Russell in 2000 on a training contract and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2003. Zoe was made a salaried partner in 2007. Working in the conveyancing department at the Bolton head office, undertakes all areas of conveyancing.
Outside work, she enjoys walking, sailing and is a group scout leader of her local scout group.
