Good Divorce Week 2020
Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign that aims to promote practical and constructive ways for couples to separate. The campaign has been a key driving force behind changes to UK divorce laws, including the no-fault divorce bill. Resolution’s Code of Practice focuses on a constructive approach to family issues, tackling the needs of the whole family, but especially resolving cases in the best interests of children caught up in a dispute. Dealing with separation and divorce is difficult. Emotions are high and even if two people both agree to separate, the changes can be so stressful that conflict and confrontation can seem inevitable.
Resolution is an organisation of solicitors and other family justice professionals who are committed to following a non-confrontational and constructive approach to resolving family issues. All members sign-up to the Code of Practice that sets out the approach we take to our work, this means Resolution members will:
- Listen to you, be honest with you and treat you with respect.
- Explain all the options and give you confidence to make the right decisions.
- Help you focus on what is important in the long-term.
- Help you balance financial and emotional costs with what you want to achieve.
- Work with others to find the right approach and the best solutions for you.
- Manage stress in what can be an already stressful situation.
